Self-isolation or being quarantined is the first and foremost step one shall take if came in contact with anyone who might have been exposed to the virus. Even if your child gets caught off the virus, being the very close person, one should go into self-isolation at the earliest.

Being quarantined will ensure no further spreading of the disease. It is very much obvious of being a parent that you must have been within 6 feet distance of closeness with your child, providing every possible care he/she needed.

So, in order to avoid further more spread of the disease, one must quarantine themselves at the earliest. Stay home alone in a room for 14 days after your final contact with the person infected.
If any symptoms seem to be arising, then get tested for coivd without any further delay.
